For our client BASF, we are looking for Student Greenhouse and Field Workers for their site in Astene, from 3 August until the end of September.

Your responsibilities will include transplanting, repotting, and providing general plant care.

Key Responsibilities

Performing various greenhouse, field, and laboratory activities related to the European oilseed rape (canola) breeding program.

Greenhouse and Field

• Caring for plants throughout the entire growth process.
• Sowing seeds and setting up projects.
• Transplanting plants.
• Collecting plant samples.
• Staking and bagging plants.
• Planting seedlings grown on culture media.
• Harvesting plant material.
• Performing manual cross-pollinations.
• Setting up metal structures.
• Cleaning and disinfecting used equipment and materials.

Seed Processing Area

• Cleaning small seed lots, either manually or using machinery.
• Counting, weighing, and packaging seed lots.
• Preparing seed quality control activities.
• Producing self-pollination bags.
• Proactively ensuring optimal crop growth conditions and monitoring plants for insects, diseases, and other issues.
• Accurately recording and maintaining data in accordance with company standards and procedures.
