Greenhouse and Field Worker

For our client BASF, we are looking for a temporary greenhouse technician for the site in Astene.

Your tasks will include transplanting, repotting, and general plant care. More specifically:

• Carrying out various greenhouse and laboratory activities linked to the European oilseed rape breeding program.

Laboratory tasks: Performing high‑quality routine lab activities such as initiating and executing optimal microspore cultures, plating on medium, preparing buffers and media, sterilization, and dishwashing.

Greenhouse tasks: Caring for plants throughout their growth cycle. This includes project sowing and setup, transplanting, sampling, staking and bagging plants, transplanting plants grown on medium, harvesting plant material, performing hand pollinations, setting up metal structures, and disinfecting materials.

Warehouse tasks: Cleaning small seed lots (mechanically or manually), counting, weighing, and packaging seed lots, preparing seed quality control tests, and producing self‑pollination bags.

• Proactively ensuring optimal growth conditions, including detecting insects, plant diseases, and other issues.
• Accurately recording data in accordance with company standards.
